Bluewake Marine Enterprises supplies marine engines, marine generators, marine gearboxes, and propulsion systems within the United Kingdom and internationally. Due to the high-value and specialist nature of our products, shipping terms vary depending on the product type, destination, and agreed Incoterms.

1. General Shipping Information
Shipping methods, timelines, and responsibilities will be confirmed in writing at the time of quotation or order confirmation.
Delivery times provided are estimates only and are not guaranteed unless explicitly agreed in writing.
Shipping costs are calculated based on:
- Product size and weight
- Destination country
- Shipping method (road, sea freight, air freight)
- Agreed Incoterms
2. Incoterms (International Commercial Terms)
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, international orders are supplied under one of the following Incoterms 2020:
EXW (Ex Works)
- Goods are made available at our UK premises.
- Buyer arranges and pays for transport.
- Risk transfers to the buyer once goods are collected.
FCA (Free Carrier)
- Goods are delivered to a carrier nominated by the buyer.
- Risk transfers once handed to the carrier.
FOB (Free On Board) – Sea Freight
- Goods are delivered onboard vessel at UK port.
- Risk transfers once goods are loaded onto the vessel.
CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight)
- We arrange freight and insurance to the named port.
- Risk transfers once goods are loaded at origin port.
DAP (Delivered at Place)
- We arrange delivery to the named destination.
- Buyer is responsible for import duties and customs clearance.
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) – By Special Agreement Only
- We arrange delivery including import duties and taxes.
- Must be agreed in writing prior to order confirmation.
The applicable Incoterm will be clearly stated on your quotation and invoice.
3. UK Domestic Shipping
For UK mainland deliveries:
- Shipping method may include pallet freight or specialist carrier.
- Delivery is typically curbside unless otherwise agreed.
- Risk transfers upon delivery to the agreed address.
Customers must inspect goods upon delivery and report damage within 48 hours.
4. International Shipping
For international deliveries:
- Customs clearance is the responsibility of the buyer unless DDP is agreed.
- Import duties, VAT, and local taxes are the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
- Delays due to customs inspections are beyond our control.
Customers are responsible for ensuring compliance with local maritime regulations and import requirements.
5. Marine Engines & High-Value Equipment
Due to the nature of marine engines and propulsion systems:
- Engines are typically shipped palletised or crated.
- Lifting equipment may be required at destination.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring appropriate unloading capability unless agreed otherwise.
Failure to arrange suitable unloading facilities may result in redelivery charges.
6. Shipping Insurance
Under CIF terms, insurance is included to the destination port.
Under EXW, FCA, FOB, or DAP terms, shipping insurance may not be included unless specifically requested.
Customers are advised to confirm insurance coverage prior to shipment.
7. Delivery Inspection
Upon delivery, customers must:
- Inspect goods immediately.
- Note visible damage on the delivery receipt.
- Notify us within 48 hours of any damage.
Failure to report transit damage within 48 hours may affect claims eligibility.
8. Delays & Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays caused by:
- Customs processing
- Port congestion
- Carrier delays
- Weather events
- Force majeure circumstances
Delivery timelines are estimates and not contractual guarantees unless agreed in writing.
9. Risk Transfer
Risk transfers in accordance with the agreed Incoterm.
Ownership of goods remains with Bluewake Marine Enterprises until full payment is received.
10. Shipping Costs & Refunds
Shipping costs are:
- Non-refundable once goods have been dispatched.
- Non-refundable on international orders unless goods are faulty.
Return shipping costs are governed by our Returns & Refund Policy.
