At Bluewake Marine Enterprises, we aim to provide clarity and fairness in all transactions. Please read this policy carefully before placing an order.

RETURNS SUMMARY (UK CONSUMER ORDERS)

  • Returns accepted within 14 days of delivery.
  • You must notify us within 14 days of receiving your goods.
  • You must return goods within 14 days of notifying us.
  • Items must be unused and in original packaging.
  • A 15% restocking fee applies to standard returns.
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless goods are faulty.
  • Special-order or custom-configured items may not be eligible for return (this does not affect your statutory rights as a UK consumer).

1. UK Consumer Returns (Distance Selling Regulations)

If you are purchasing as a consumer under UK distance selling regulations, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving your goods.

To exercise this right:

  1. You must notify us in writing within 14 days of delivery.
  2. You must return the goods within 14 days of notifying us.

Returned goods must:

  • Be unused and in resaleable condition.
  • Include all components, manuals, and accessories.
  • Be returned in original, undamaged packaging.

Failure to notify us within 14 days or return goods within 14 days after notification will void your right to cancel.

2. Restocking Fee

For standard (non-fault) returns, a 15% restocking fee will be deducted from your refund.

This fee covers inspection, handling, and administrative costs.

The restocking fee does not apply to faulty or incorrectly supplied goods.

3. Return Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the goods are faulty or supplied incorrectly.

Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

For international orders:

  • Customs duties, taxes, and import fees are non-refundable.
  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility unless goods are faulty.

4. Commercial (Business-to-Business) Orders

Orders placed by businesses, commercial operators, or trade customers are not automatically covered by consumer cancellation rights.

Marine engines, generators, propulsion systems, and other high-value or special-order items supplied for commercial use may not be eligible for cancellation or return once ordered from the manufacturer.

Return eligibility for commercial orders is at our discretion and must be agreed in writing.

5. Special-Order & Custom-Configured Items

Certain items may not be eligible for return, including:

  • Custom-configured marine engines
  • Special-order propulsion systems
  • Bespoke gearbox ratios
  • Manufacturer-built-to-order units

This does not affect statutory consumer rights under UK law.

If you are unsure whether your product qualifies as a special-order item, please contact us before purchasing.

6. Faulty or Damaged Goods

If goods arrive damaged or defective:

  • You must notify us within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Photographic evidence may be required.
  • Goods must not be installed or used before reporting damage.

If confirmed faulty or damaged:

  • We will offer repair, replacement, or refund.
  • Return shipping costs will be covered by us.

Goods damaged due to improper installation, misuse, or unauthorised modification are not eligible for refund.


7. Refund Processing

Once returned goods are received:

  • We will inspect the item(s).
  • If eligible, your refund will be issued within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.

Refunds will be made to the original method of payment.

Please note:

  • Banks and card providers may take 7–14 working days to process refunds.
  • Once we have issued the refund, processing times are controlled by your financial provider.

8. Exchanges

We replace items only if they are defective or damaged.

To request an exchange, please contact us via our website contact form.

Exchanges are subject to product availability.

9. Return Procedure

Before returning any goods:

  1. Contact us via our website.
  2. We will confirm the appropriate return address.
  3. Do not return goods directly to manufacturers unless instructed.

For items valued over £50, we strongly recommend using a tracked and insured shipping service.

We cannot guarantee receipt of returned goods without proof of delivery.
